Our Story
About the Club
Six years on the water and counting.
North Manly Yacht Club is a community-led group of hobbyists, educators and weekend pirates who've been sailing remote-controlled yachts on Manly Lagoon for over six years.
We started with a couple of mates, a few hand-built boats and a shared love of the lagoon. Today we run weekly racing sessions, workshops with local schools, and free come-and-try days for anyone curious enough to wander down.
Through our partnership with TinkerTank, we connect kids and adults with hands-on STEM — from electronics and 3D printing to wind dynamics and design. Every boat tells a story; most of them were built in a shed.
What we believe
- ⚓ Public waterways belong to the community.
- 🛠 The best boats are the ones you fixed yourself.
- 🌱 Leave the lagoon better than you found it.
- 🤝 Everyone's welcome on the start line.
